What this means
This error occurs when the digital signature handshake between the signing authority (e.g., MitID, BankID, itsme) and Penneo fails at the final verification stage. The most common cause is a session timeout or a data mismatch during the "Review and Sign" phase.
How to fix it
- Refresh the Session: Click the "Start Over" button. Do not use the browser's back button.
- Clear Browser Cache: Old session data can interfere with the signature token. Please ensure that you only delete the last few hours of your cache. You can also try opening the signing link in an Incognito/Private browser window.
- Check your Digital ID App: Ensure your identity app (e.g., MitID, itsme) is updated to the latest version and that you have a stable internet connection when swiping/confirming to approve.
