User account
Upon the creation of your user profile by your Penneo administrator, you will receive an email containing a link that allows you to activate your new user account within Penneo. It is important to note that, for security reasons, this activation link will only remain active for a period of 14 days. Once you click on the link to activate your account, it will then only be valid for 30 minutes. Therefore, it is essential to complete the account creation process promptly once the link has been activated to avoid any inconvenience.
In this guide, we will provide a step-by-step example of how to set up Classic credentials alongside the Danish eID (MitID). The specific login types that you can configure in your profile settings will depend on the login options that your administrator has selected and enabled for your account. For further information on how to modify your login methods, please refer to the following guides: How to enable/disable users' login methods (for Administrators); How to connect an eID to my Penneo login).

- At this stage, you will be presented with the setup options that your administrator has made available to you. In this particular example, we will be configuring Classic credentials and MitID. Click on Continue to configure Classic Credentials to move forward with the setup process.

If you possess a MitID associated with a company, you can click on the MitID Key File tab. After entering the required information, click Next.
- At this point, you have successfully completed the setup process, and you are now able to log in using the selected login method(s). Click on Start Penneo.
My link has expired
If you are a user:
If you happen to have received an invitation link that has expired, it is necessary for you to reach out to your administrator. Only your Penneo administrator has the capability to issue you a new invitation link.
If you are an administrator:
As an administrator, if you find yourself in possession of an expired invitation, you can request that another administrator reset your password. It is always advisable to maintain at least two active administrators within your organisation to effectively resolve such issues internally. Due to security and privacy protocols, Penneo support can only provide you with a reset link once. Should you be the sole administrator, you may contact Penneo Support for further assistance.
If your aim is to reset the password for a user, you can follow our comprehensive guide: How to reset a user's password (for Administrators).
Note: In the event that you have received multiple links within a short timeframe and have attempted to reset your login but are still encountering difficulties, it is crucial to wait a minimum of 3 hours before making your next login attempt. This waiting period is necessary for security reasons, as the system needs time to update and register the “correct” changes.
