If you receive the following message (see screenshot below), the program cannot be opened because it comes from an unknown developer.
This guide will walk you through how to get past it.
The reason behind the warning message lies with the Apple developers, who have chosen that applications used on OSX must originate from the App Store or an identified developer.
The Penneo Desktop Application is not downloaded from the App Store or an identified developer.
Therefore you need to follow the instructions below to allow the Desktop app to run anyway.
Solution
- Open System Preferences. You can typically find it on your toolbar by clicking on the Apple icon on the top left menu or clicking F4 on your keyboard and searching for it.
- Click on Security & Privacy.
- Click on the lock in the bottom left corner and enter your password.
- Now change to the option Allow apps downloaded from to App Store and identified developers.
- Click on Open Anyway to allow the Penneo Desktop Application to run.
- Wait for the Desktop Application to open. Log in, and you are ready to start.
