When creating a case file, you have the option to change the name of the roles you select for the signers.
This option may be useful in case, for example, you found a role that suits your signer in terms of order of signing and documents to sign, but the name of that role does not match your signer.
Remember that changing the name of a role does not change its 'behavior' - i.e., the rules that apply to that role. For example, if you assign to a signer the role of Seller and then change the name of the role from Seller to Buyer, then the signer will sign the documents that the seller would normally sign.

Reach the third step of the case file creation, where you add signers.
- Click on Add signer.
- Choose a role for the signer you are creating.
- Once you have chosen a role, the Customize role names option will appear. Checkmark it.
- A new field will appear, called Customized signer role. Type your desired name for the role in the field. You can still see the original name of the role on the left side of the field.
- When you have added all the required information for the signer, click Add recipient.
If you use the Desktop Application
This option will appear in the third step of the case file creation, where you add signers.
Note that you need to first upload the documents that can be signed to then be able to choose a role and customize its name.
- Click on the box under Role for the signer you wish to customize the role name.
- Choose a role. Then, click Edit and type your desired name for the role in the field that appears.
